About

While I wouldn’t call myself a bookworm, I’ve always held a deep affinity for the craft of books and the experience that a well-built book can instil. Studying the physical nature of books taught me early on that a book isn’t simply a vessel for literature but a powerful object in itself.

After studying Book Arts at Camberwell College of Arts, I joined Penguin Books in Beijing. It was here where I stepped into the commercial side of publishing. I learned how books find their way to readers and how they can extend beyond the literary experience. But what surprised me most is that above all, brand matters. Every book is a brand, as is every author. A book designer’s role goes beyond covers, it’s about intentionally shaping the details around literary experiences that reach further, create lasting connections and ultimately permeating culture.
